From coast to country
The Tweed Coast – it’s hard to imagine a more beautiful place on earth. For those of us lucky enough to call it home, you don’t have to look hard to find amazing scenery.
We’ve photographed some of our favourite locations, which can be viewed and downloaded below – no strings attached! The images below are intended for personal use as screensavers or desktop backgrounds. If you’re interested in prints or purchasing images for commercial use, please get in touch.
We hope you enjoy looking at your screens as much as we do once they’re loaded up!
Cudgen farmland, view to Wollumbin. Often described as ‘red gold’ the earth of Cudgen has long been used for farming. This view looks Southwest towards majestic Wollumbin (Cloud Catcher).
Mullet running, Norries Headland, Cabarita. Mullet season kicks off in the colder months on the Tweed Coast. You’ll often see 4WDs on the beach, full of nets and fresh catch. Lots of people use them for bait…a friend smoked some up with some spices, we shredded and added fresh lime, pepper, kimchi & chilli – tasty on a cracker with a cold beer!
Sunset, looking from Casuarina to Wollumbin. At the right time of year, the sun sets directly behind Wollumbin from your chosen vantage point. Epic cloud formations and violent lightning storms frequent this skyscape.
Cabarita back beach, from Norries Headland. On a clear day, you’ll see right down to Byron. When there’s a large Southerly swell, the headland is a great place to watch waves roll in and spot humpback whales during migration.
Cabarita looking North, from Norries Headland. The sand migrates through Cabarita, sometimes no rocks are visible on the bottom. With the right swell, the sand fills in and creates a great point break running down past the bays.
Canefields to Wollumbin, Tropical Fruit World. This photo was taken outside Tropical Fruit World in Duranbah. The views are amazing and well worth a drive up for a look (sunsets can be great). While you’re up there, you can also check out the beautiful Fins at Plantation House wedding and events venue, run by local culinary legend Steven Snow.
